The much awaited film Bahubali 2 is here and just like fans even critics cannot stop singing praises about the film. This historical fiction is the sequel to the 2015 released movie ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’. After the release of the first part, there were lot of jokes and memes been made especially on ‘why did Kattappa kill Baahubali’. Like Tamannaah said in one of her interviews, not even the makers ever thought that this scene would ever become the talking point. It’s been two years now that fans are waiting to know the theory behind this. For those who are have still not got the chance to watch the film, then check out the review posted by critics.
The first part is a triumph of imagination and also the intriguing plot engages the audience with its grand and stunning visuals. The story revolves around the great kingdom “Mahishmathi” and the young charming princes – Bhallala Deva and Baahubali, like the one you read in “Chandamama” and “Amar Chitra Katha”.
With the major part of the run time of 171 minutes being dedicated to the backstory of how and why Bahubali met his end, one might wonder if Rajamouli is going to compromise on Shivudu's quest for revenge. But despite the relatively shorter duration that is devoted to it, he manages to keep the proceedings engaging all the way, right till the very end. There is nothing that comes across as too gimmicky in the film, the glamour quotient kept sufficiently under control as well. If the previous film had set the base high with the production design (by Sabu Cyril) and VFX, then with the second part, the bar has only been raised even further. The production values are indeed excellent and the film is a grand visual spectacle in every possible way. KK Senthil Kumar's cinematography, Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao's editing (kudos for the interval block) and MM Keeravani's music (especially the BGM) aid the film considerably.
